Películas de mexicanos Guillermo del Toro, Alfonso Cuarón y Alejandro González Inárritu están entre los nominados para la próxima entrega del Oscar el 12 de marzo.
Pinocho de Guillermo del Toro buscará un premio Óscar en la ceremonia número 95 que celebra a lo mejor del cine pues está nominada a mejor película animada.
Cabe destacar que Del Toro contabiliza 6 nominaciones al Óscar, en lo que va de su carrera fílmica.
La película, que también fue nominada a los Globos de Oro, se medirá en esta categoría junto a filmes como: Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, El Gato con Botas: El Último Deseo, The Sea Beast y Red.
Bardo, la cinta dirigida por Alejandro González Iñárritu, no fue nominada al premio de Mejor Película Internacional, pero competirá en la categoría a Mejor Fotografía por el trabajo de Darius Khondji.
Las películas All Quiet on the Western Front, Elvis, Empire of Light y Tár son sus contendientes en la misma categoría.
Khondji, de origen iraní, tiene trabajos en cintas como Diamantes en Bruto y Okja.
En tanto, Le Pupille, corto que contó con la producción del mexicano Alfonso Cuarón, también cosechó una nominación a la categoría Mejor Cortometraje Live Action.
